We've had Boludo's delicious empanadas before but never pizza. Had the Peras pizza (pears, gorgonzola, fresh dill, pine nuts) and it was fantastic. It's not cheap but I'm not mad because the quality of ingredients and taste is incredible. A pizza feeds two if you're not feeling piggy. If you're a big eater you'll probably need a whole one.
Tried the churro donuts with dulce de leche for dessert. Yum. They're heavily coated with a cinnamon sugar mix that must have a little chili in it. They're really light and chewier than a regular donut.
The new 38th and Nicollet location is really cute. Love everything except the bathrooms, they just have some dim blue light it's practically pitch black in there 😆
My first time eating in at Boludo, and my first time having the pizza. I've had their empanadas before and while those are solid, the pizza is delightful. I love the fluffy crust covered in cheese, the crispy thin bottom, and the very sweet sauce. It's as unusual in flavor as it is in shape, and that's not a bad thing. All in their cute dining area with a great sound system.
It’s a one of those can’t miss spots. The vibe stands out against the rest of the block.
The place:
it’s modern, but cozy with a big focus of Messi, plus the bathrooms decor is a nice touch - but I don’t want to spoil that for you, you’ll need to see it for yourself.
The food:
As I said, you can’t miss. Even their salads 🥗 have a heavy hand of cheese which I’m all about. But feel to explore the menu knowing you won’t be regretting your choice.
The drinks:
It’s a mix of Argentinian beers and local beers with some THC drinks to keep things interesting. Oh, they have sangria, make sure to have a taste. It’s not the biggest selection, but it compliments the food perfectly.
Overall:
I say support this local business. They care about what it’s producing and it shows.
I have mixed feelings about this review. We initially tried their margarita pizza, which was absolutely incredible - it exceeded our expectations so much that we ordered from here again the following night. However, when we tried different pizzas, my fiancé found the mushroom and chorizo to be good but not as impressive as the margarita. I opted for the deep dish olive pizza, and it was a letdown - it was bland, burnt, and dry, a stark contrast to our first night's delight. To top it off, they forgot our salad dressing on the second night. Despite this, we would consider returning, but we aren’t in such a rush.
What an amazing and unique Argentinian restaurant! The food is just delicious gourmet style. The staff so friendly .If you go to the one at 8w 38th st Minneapolis, it is small but so cozy and the manager Omar it is a great guy ! I strongly recommend this place !!!
I came here full and still ate my entire order. Food was fabulous; hot and full of flavor and interest. Some of the staff seemed a little burnt out, and the bathroom was a sensory nightmare, but overall a great experience.
Excellent as always! Fun blend of flavors and textures. Highly recommend the pepperoni. The angel hair-like cheese is a bit of a mess to eat, but that just adds to the experience. Two people can share a pizza. Love the salty crust.
Empanadas are some of the best I've ever had. Flavor comes from the ingredients without being cheesy. Pastry dough is buttery and fluffy.
Very Argentinan ambiance lol. Self-service but they do bring the food to you. One of the few places that is open fairly late into the night.
Bad vibes and non-existent customer service but does a good pizza makeup for it?
The music was extremely loud, you can hear how loud it was in my video. We asked the employee to turn it down since we were the only customers there. He said yes but he didn’t. We spoke in Spanish, we are Argentine, and the employee would only talk to us in English but with his co-workers in Spanish. We also could hardly hear him. The service felt very dismissive.
You serve yourself water and you grab your own plates and utensils. It is all located near the entrance so I’m not sure how sanitary it is.
The pizza takes a long time to cook, which I understand but the cashier should say something to customers because it seems to be a common complaint customers have encountered there.
We are used to fugazza pizza from Argentina which has a thicker dough like focaccia. The toppings were very similar to Argentina but the dough was not. The crust was the best part of the dough but underneath, it was so thin, it was not enjoyable with the amount of cheese. And fugazetta in Argentina is a cheese stuffed pizza, this one is not, just has a lot of cheese.
If it wasn’t for the bad atmosphere and service, we would have left the place feeling better about the food.
